All Dance Zone fees for 2015 must be paid Thursday week 1 of the commencing term. Unless Ezi debit payment plan is set up. All ezi debit plans must be set up week 1 of the commencing term. No late forms will be accepted.

There will only be 2 ways of paying for your child's fees. These 2 options have come in place due to the large amount of outstanding fees each term.

There will be no other ways of making payment and if your fees are not paid or ezi debit plan set a late fee of $10 will be added each Friday until account is set up. If your child changes the amount of classes they are attending the next term you must fill in a new Payment Form for the term.

Waiting room and Warm up room

We have a waiting room for parents and students. This is not a play area. However, we must limit siblings or extra people to one due to space limitations. Any children in the centre who are NOT registered students must be supervised by an adult. All registered students may sit in the waiting room assuming they are on a break. Registered Dancers may be dropped off and picked up; it is not necessary for you to stay. Your other children may not be dropped off for FREE Baby Sitting Services!

We also have a warm up room for dance students only. Dry snacks and a sealed plastic bottle containing water only is allowed. This room is for students to stretch and prepare for the class ahead.

All tiny tots' parents must wait for their child during classes.

Office hours are 2pm – 5:00pm Please contact the front desk staff whenever the need arises. Most of the time, the front desk staff can help you with any questions you may have. We want your experience here at Dance Zone be a positive one. Sorry, but Instructors do NOT have time to talk between classes.

Class Behaviour

We want all of our students to have an enjoyable and educational dance experience. We will treat you and your children with courtesy and respect. We expect our students to show the same attitude toward their teachers and fellow dancers. We request that your children observe the following simple rules:

  • Pay Attention to your teacher – Don't talk with your friends during class! It disrupts the whole class and makes it difficult for the teacher to communicate with the students. Meet your friends before or after class for social fun.
  • Food or drinks are permitted in theWaiting and warm up areasonly. Be careful – spills ruin the floors and food attracts bugs. You may have snacks, but please dispose of your waste properly.
  • There are water breaks given during classes. Leave water bottles in the warm up area.
  • Do not pull up on or hang from the Ballet Barres. They can be pulled from the wall or you can get stuck in them. Barres are for balance and support.
  • We have zero tolerance for swearing. Any student swearing will be immediately removed from the class.
  • Come prepared to dance – attire, grooming, attitude, ambition, energy!

Parking and Drop Off

There is a drop off area directly in front of the studio. This is NOT a parking area and the local Traffic officers do patrol regularly and hand out tickets. So if you are going to be parked for more than a few minutes, please use the designated 2-hour street parking places or go to the public car park around the corner in Bazaar street. (3 minute walk)

Classroom Etiquette

Reasonable rules and standards are provided to promote self-discipline. Students should arrive l0 mins before class with sufficient time to change into dance shoes to begin class on time. Students who arrive at Dance Zone 10-15 minutes after the scheduled class time are welcome to observe the class; however, they will not be permitted to participate unless there is an extenuating circumstance. If students need to leave before the end of the class, they should notify the teacher before class begins. Students may not leave the classroom without first receiving permission from the teacher.

As employees of Dance Zone, teachers have the responsibility to see that their class is under control, and they have the authority to dismiss any student who will not cooperate and is a disruption to the rest of the class. Inappropriate dress or behaviour will not be allowed. No chewing gum, food or drinks will be permitted inside the classrooms during class or rehearsal.

Changing classes

Notify the front desk staff immediately if you are changing class and inform the front desk with thenew day and time of your class. You are charged as an active student until you notify the office of a change in status. Students are welcome to add classes, just inform the front desk. Class changes must have the permission of all teachers involved. This is especially important when we are ordering costumes and preparing dances for the annual dance concert.

Discontinuation of classes

Once a student is enrolled you must inform Dance Zone in writing the term before discontinuation of a class. If classes are booked and the new term has commenced, full term fees will be required. Dance Zone teachers put a great deal of planning into the term, co-operation in this matter will be greatly appreciated. If unforeseen circumstances arise, such as injuries, alternative arrangements can be provided for your child.

Concert Photo Shoot

Take a look at the annual program book from previous years. You will see a beautiful piece of artwork. Each routine is pictured in the book as a memory of your classmates and individuals demonstrating their year of accomplishments, plus candid photos from the studio's activities and competition teams events. This is a keepsake for all to cherish for years to come. The group and individual photo shoot in Concert Costumes takes place a few weeks before our Annual Concert. Children (and parents too!) learn so much during the photo shoot: how the costume is to be worn, how to secure headpieces, how to style hair and apply theatrical make-up. This is like a wardrobe rehearsal for the show.Your child will love their modelling job!

We encourage all students to take advantage of these opportunities. Information including costs and entry fees etc. will be provided in advance of each event. All fees must be paid in advance of the event.

Come Prepared inDance Zone Uniform

  • We always want to present a polished appearance.
  • Cheerleading Hair must be up off the back of your neck and slicked away from the face in either a ponytail, bun or French braid
  • A bun is mandatory for all Ballet, Jazz, Acro, Song and Dance, Contemporary.
  • No jewellery is allowed for safety reasons. Necklaces can break. Rings can fly off. Earring backs fall. If earrings are unable to be removed they must be taped before class. Dance Zone will not be responsible for jewellery removed before class.
  • Only Dance Zone uniform will be allowed. Dance Zone requires all students to attend in full uniform every class, our uniform helps students feel part of a team and by enforcing uniform it eliminates segregation.
  • All Dance Wear is available only at RL Dance Wear.
  • DO NOT wear dance shoes outside. Wearing dance shoes outside ruins the sole and also tracks dirt, oil and gravel into the studio, causing damage to the customized dance floors.
